Job Description
The Risk Measurement Team is responsible for managing a global risk data platform called MSCI RiskMetrics. This platform helps different teams across the company measure and monitor investment risks, including market risk, stress-testing, and liquidity risk. The team works closely with departments such as Investment Risk Management, Product Development, Legal & Compliance, and Client Reporting to provide accurate risk-related data and insights.
As part of the company’s second line of defence, the team also manages risk models used for regulatory and market risk analysis to support better decision-making and compliance.
Role of Junior Risk Analyst
- Work closely with the APAC Risk Measurement Team Lead to build and maintain a strong risk measurement system that supports global risk monitoring needs.
- Continuously improve risk measurement tools and processes to meet changing regulatory, business, and portfolio requirements.
- Monitor and analyze different types of risks such as market risk, liquidity risk, and leverage across global investment funds.
- Prepare accurate and high-quality risk reports and portfolio analysis for stakeholders.
- Collaborate with global Risk Measurement teams and other Investment Risk departments to improve platform efficiency and overall performance.
- Support stakeholders by providing detailed research, quantitative analysis, and portfolio insights.
- Share knowledge about local investment products, trading strategies, market behavior, and investment processes.
- Build a strong understanding of financial markets and evaluate how market changes can impact portfolio risk.
- Ensure all tasks and activities follow Invesco’s professional conduct and compliance standards.
Academic Requirement for Junior Risk Analyst
- MBA , MS , B.Tech
- CFA / FRM / CQF Certification
Education for Junior Risk Analyst
- UG: B.Tech / B.E. in Any Specialization
- PG: MBA/PGDM in Any Specialization
Experience Required
- 0–2 years of experience in Market Risk or related financial risk areas.
- Basic understanding of risk measurement concepts such as Value at Risk (VaR), Volatility, Tracking Error, and other risk statistics.
- Familiarity with the MSCI RiskMetrics platform is preferred.
- Good knowledge of financial instruments and basic understanding of derivative pricing methods.
- Working knowledge of at least one programming language such as SQL or Python.
- Knowledge of risk management tools like BarraOne, BlackRock Aladdin, or Axioma will be an added advantage.
