Job Description

The Zendesk Online Business team seeks a Software Engineer with experience in frontend languages like JavaScript and TypeScript, and React.js, to enhance the Zendesk purchasing experience, ensuring consistency and intuitiveness in the business’s fundamental aspects.

Job Responsibility and roles

• Working together with product managers and engineers to guarantee that requirements are comprehended and implemented.
• Follow Zendesk guidelines when creating, constructing, and launching solutions.
• Promote best practices, high-quality code, and adequate test coverage. We deploy code rapidly and frequently, but stability and reliability must always be prioritized.
• Engage actively in code reviews and design discussions.
• Collaborate across all phases of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), including requirements gathering and the development of services and solutions.

Job Requirements

• 2-4 years of pertinent industry experience in frontend software development
• Proficiency in technical domains such as Session Management, Object Relational Mapping, Caching, JavaScript, CSS, HTML, CSS-in-JS, JSON, and REST APIs
• Experience in creating intricate single-page applications using React or comparable JavaScript MVC/MVP frameworks
• A collaborative, team-oriented mindset that excels in a dynamic agile development setting
• Willingness to acquire knowledge in new fields and technologies
• Outstanding written and verbal communication abilities

Bonus Skills

• Familiarity with Datadog or similar log aggregation tools
• Familiarity with an object-oriented programming language such as Ruby or Java
• Familiarity with databases such as MySQL
• Familiarity with the AWS stack (e.g., Aurora RDS)
• Proficiency in instrumentation frameworks like Segment or Pendo
• Familiarity with JavaScript build infrastructure and tooling (Webpack, Node.js)
